Last Friday (14/01) Sevenair inaugurated the company's new hangar at the Municipal Aerodrome of Ponte de Sor. The site will be used for aircraft maintenance and training of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.
With regard to maintenance, the company's focus “It is to capture the market for turboprop aircraft in the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa, since with the current installations in Cascais we are not able to respond. We are talking about single-engine and multi-engine aircraft weighing up to 10 tons”, says Alexandre Alves CCO of the group.
It should be noted that the group's maintenance divisions (Sevenair Maintenance and Sevenair Avionics) are certified by ANAC (Autoridade Nacional da Aviação Civil) in accordance with EASA (European authority) rules for maintenance on 40 types of aircraft from 15 different manufacturers, which gives it a wide possibility of attracting international clients.

The project of the sevenair group implies a phased investment over the duration of the hangar concession, which is now beginning, of more than €7,4 million and the hiring of around 40 professionals, the vast majority of whom are licensed or have aeronautical licenses, reveals the group.
Sevenair is a completely vertical group of companies in the aeronautical area – holding all areas of activity, from training, maintenance, handling and airline, perhaps the most visible area of its operations. It has seven bases, Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Cascais, Portimão and Madeira.

The entire group is owned by private capital of Portuguese nationality and has already been in the market for 33 years, having, in the last five, done the rebranding which allowed it to present itself as the Sevenair Group.
The Municipality of Ponte de Sor has already made public that Sevenair is one of the four companies that will be installed at the Municipal Aerodrome and that, together, next year they will create 250 direct jobs and invest in the city, around 20 million euros In the next years.
To Ponte de Sor, “making its Aerodrome a maintenance site for international aircraft, with the expertise that this entails, consolidates its policy of betting on economic growth in this sector and affirms the relevance of the aeronautical cluster, helping it to project itself internationally”, says Hugo Hilário, mayor.

In the training of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, one of the most relevant areas of the business group, Sevenair intends, “not only does it help to have more technicians available in an area with a great shortage of qualified professionals, but also to other projects that will be installed at the Ponte de Sor Airfield and which require a lot of qualified labor”, adds Alexandre Alves.
The training division (Sevenair Academy) is certified by ANAC, in accordance with EASA rules, and approved by AAC (Cape Verde civil aviation agency).
