For the first time ever, Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters underwent integrated training with USAF B-1B Lancer supersonic strategic bombers.
The training forms part of the Bomber Task Force (BTF) currently taking place in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.

Some of these flights had the participation of other air forces, like the Danish one, with F-16 fighters and the Polish air force, which sent F-16 and Mig 29 fighters to carry out integration missions with US bombers.
In addition to the European region, the aircraft were flying from the Guam air base, in the Pacific, where they performed flights over neutral waters of the South China Sea.
