Construction work at Teresina Airport (THE) is in full swing and is nearing completion. The opening ceremony will take place in December, but engers boarding or disembarking at the terminal are already enjoying the improvements. This week, the new aircraft apron with eight positions began operating, two of which have fingers in operation. The other remote boarding positions will be made possible by using buses to transport engers between the terminal and the plane, one of the new features of the renovation. This way, s will be less exposed to rain and heat, for example.
With investments of R$166 million, the project aims to increase operational safety, optimize aircraft service capacity and provide a more comfortable and modern environment for those boarding or disembarking in the capital of Piauí. “We have already carried out all operational tests so that we can safely begin operations. So, we already have a new apron and fingers operating in two positions, with the other six being operated remotely using buses, as is the case at other airports, depending on the number of simultaneous flights. We already have the complete flow in operation,” explains Rogério Guimarães, Engineering Manager at CCR Aeroportos, the terminal .
Other new features in the airport's infrastructure are already in operation, ensuring a better travel experience for engers. "We have a new boarding lounge, located on the second floor, which is more comfortable, spacious, modern and three times larger than the old one. engers are also already enjoying the new check-in area, elevators, escalators and inspection channel. Soon, the entire expansion will be delivered to the capital of Piauí", explains Teresina Airport Manager, Ingrid Mimoso.
