Rock in Rio, in its 40th edition, promises to bring together more than 700 people from all over Brazil. Between September 12 and 23, during the festival, around 50 engers are expected to through BH Airport, traveling to or from Rio de Janeiro, with a total of 506 flights.
Around 3.600 of these engers will fly on 24 extra flights prepared to meet the high demand for the event.
Rodrigo Côrtes, COO of BH Airport, emphasizes that the Minas Gerais terminal is properly prepared for the high movement, in line with the growth trend observed in recent months.
“Events like Rock in Rio are important because they boost the economy throughout the country, and airports are no different: many fans organize themselves into groups, book tickets on the same flight and even come dressed up to the terminal. The high demand for air travel also reflects a more positive moment for the sector, since in the first half of this year alone, BH Airport received 5,6 million engers, the best result for the period in the terminal’s history.”
The COO also emphasizes the need for engers to organize themselves to arrive with the advance notice recommended by the airlines, in order to ensure a smooth boarding and enjoy the entire airport structure.
