Azul Cargo’s first Airbus A321F has arrived in Brazil

A BLUE received in the early hours of this Thursday (17), the first unit of the pair of new A321F freighters, a model considered new in Brazil. The plane landed at Confins Airport (CNF) around 00:16, after making a technical stop in Espargos (SID), Sal Island, Cape Verde.

According to the company, the goal is to increase operational capacity, providing faster deliveries and new opportunities for customers. The two A321-200 CEO models previously used for enger operations have been transformed into freighters. Azul will be the first operator of these two aircraft after the conversion. The second aircraft will arrive later this year, in November.  
  
The Airbus A321P2Fs are capable of carrying up to 27 tonnes, offering 14 pallet positions and a total volumetric capacity of 212 m³. Compared to the current Boeing 737-400F fleet, the new freighters provide a 39% increase in weight capacity, 50% in volumetric capacity and a 27% reduction in fuel consumption per tonne transported, in addition to an increase of more than 20% in daily utilization. These improvements are accompanied by a significant reduction in CO2 emissions, with savings of up to 9.000 tonnes per year per aircraft, considering the same cargo volume.  
  
In addition, there is synergy with Azul's fleet, including line and hangar maintenance with the same technicians and qualifications, pilots with the same licenses and a single scale for both types of operations, in addition to the inventory and supply of parts, aeronautical components, and operational structure and . Azul Cargo Express, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in August of this year, operates in more than 5.000 municipalities and has 330 stores, with deliveries in up to 24 hours to 2.000 cities.
