CCR Aeroportos continues with the expansion work at Rubem Berta Airport, in Uruguaiana (URG), and inaugurated during the month of June the terminal's new arrivals area, which will be even larger and will have specific areas for carts, conveyors, Lost and Found and new toilets, significantly improving the enger experience.

“We delivered a landing that will double our enger reception capacity. In a few weeks, we will install the new conveyor belt to process baggage, with more speed and space”, said Wesley Puygcerver, terminal manager.

The new location will serve engers on flights arriving from Curitiba and Florianópolis, integrating the new emergency network at Uruguaiana Airport due to the closure of Salgado Filho International Airport, in Porto Alegre.

Works in Uruguaiana

With investments exceeding R$20 million, CCR has completed more than 60% of the works, which will be delivered by November 2024. In addition to the landing, several work fronts are also underway. Upon completion, the terminal will increase from 900 m² to 2.100 m² of built area.

The space in the departures hall will also be expanded, from 185,10m² to a new configuration with a 162,50m² departures hall and an arrivals hall of 109,20m². The departure lounge, previously measuring 134,16m², will be 213,50m². The new area includes counters, circulation spaces and an expanded boarding area.

One of the main changes takes place in the check-in area, which will go from 8,77m² to 103,30m², with areas for queues, self-service, circulation and new counters for airlines, making the process more agile and reducing waiting time for engers. engers.

“We will also have several new toilets, as well as lighting and an area for the city's population to monitor landings and takeoffs. Certainly, a new milestone for Uruguaiana Airport”, adds the manager.
