Driven by dates such as Easter, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, Azul Cargo Express, Azul's logistics unit, recorded significant growth in deliveries across several segments between April and the first days of June. The highlight of the second quarter was the transportation of clothing, including clothes, shoes and bags, which reached 180 tons, an increase of more than 1.200% compared to the first quarter of the year. The largest volume of these loads originated in the South region and was destined for the Southeast region, in addition to a consistent increase in transportation between the Southeast and North of the country.
Traditional gifts for these dates, such as wines, flowers and chocolates, also contributed to the good results. Wine transportation totaled 145 tons, a 114% increase compared to the previous quarter. Most of the cargo originated in the Southeast region and was destined for the Central-West and Northeast regions.
Also among the products linked to commemorative dates, the volume of flowers and chocolates reached 36,8 tons, a figure 160% higher than that recorded in the first three months of the year. Flowers led this group, with 31,65 tons shipped. The cargo left the city of Holambra (SP), the national production center, with land transport to Campinas airport, from where it was sent by air mainly to the North and Northeast regions. Chocolates represented 5,15 tons, with emphasis on shipments originating in the Southeast and transported to the North of the country.
