Due to the health risk caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) extended, until March 20, 2021, the validity of the exemption for the need for specialization of aerodrome firefighters.
The new validity period is set out in Resolution No. 592, of October 13, 2020, published this Thursday (15/10) in the Official Gazette.
According to the resolution, the exemption of professional aerodrome firefighters from the need to specialize in Aerodrome Firefighter CCI Driver/Operator (BA-MC) to perform the function described in paragraph 153.415(a)(2) of the Brazilian Regulations is extended. of Civil Aviation – RBAC nº 153.
It was also extended the need for specialization of Aerodrome Firefighter Chief of the Service Team (BA-CE) to perform the function described in paragraph 153.415(a)(3) of RBAC nº 153, according to the transitory provision contained in paragraph 153.451(k) (1) of RBAC No. 153.
The risks associated with the postponement of specialization for airfield firefighters are manageable, given that these professionals are trained for the function and are submitted to a recurrent training program and to rules and other safety guidelines.
