The Cargo Terminal (TECA) at Viracopos International Airport, in Campinas (SP), received on Wednesday night (10/09) the equipment that will be used in the show by American rapper Travis Scott, who will perform today (11/09), in São Paulo, and on 13/09, at Rock in Rio.
39 closed pallets weighing a total of approximately 100 tons of equipment were unloaded at the Cargo Terminal. The volumes unloaded at Viracopos were transported on trucks to the capital of São Paulo.
Travis Scott's shows in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are part of his “Circus Maximus” tour, which began in June in Europe. He will be on the road until next month, when he performs in New Zealand.
The equipment was transported in a Boeing 747, which took off from Buenos Aires (Argentina). At least 40 people carried out the depalletizing and loading operation on 11 trucks, totaling 100 tons of cargo. The company Fulstandig was the cargo agent for the operation and the customs broker was the company Etex Comércio Exterior.
Viracopos Airport has an experienced team for the fast and efficient processing of special cargo. Event material is stored in a controlled and secure area, with an electronic surveillance system and 24-hour personnel.
Other shows
The arrival of the equipment consolidates the Viracopos Cargo Terminal as one of the main entry points for equipment for major international events taking place in Brazil. The Cargo Terminal team has the logistical expertise to process large volumes of cargo for international mega-events.
Last Saturday (31/08), for example, the Cargo Terminal received the equipment that was used in the show by singer and composer The Weeknd, who will perform on September 7th, in São Paulo (SP).
On April 24, TECA Viracopos also received part of the equipment for Madonna's concert, which took place on May 04th at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, as part of her “Celebration Tour”. In May, the teams also processed the cargo from Karol G's concert, totaling 05 tons of cargo.
On March 21, the sound and lighting equipment of some bands that performed at Lollapalooza 2024, in São Paulo, also landed at Viracopos. On that occasion, four cargo flights brought the equipment of at least 14 bands that will perform at the festival, including Blink 182 and The Offspring, Jungle, Arcade Fire, Kings of Leon, Limp Bizkit, 30 Seconds to Mars, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Hozier, SZA, Sam Smith, Phoenix, Nothing but Thieves, Omar Apollo and Greta Van Fleet.
In 2023, TECA de Viracopos also received band equipment for the same event. On the occasion, volumes from the bands Billie Eilish, Twenty One Pilots, Drake, Lil Nas X, Rosalia, Tame Impala, Tove Lo, Modest Mouse, among other artists, arrived.
For example, TECA has hosted equipment from historic shows by the bands Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, U2, Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Miley Cyrus, Maroon 5, Sam Smith, Coldplay, Elton John and Justin Bieber, as well as several festivals such as Rock in Rio and SP-TRIP.
