Viracopos Airport is elected the Best Airport in Brazil for the 5th time in its category

Viracopos International Airport in Campinas (SP) was elected the Best Airport in Brazil in the category of over 10 million engers/year in a enger satisfaction survey conducted by the Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC). This is the fifth time that Viracopos has won the annual title, and the first two times the airport won in the general category.

The announcement of the “Aviation +Brazil 2025” award was made this Tuesday (27/05), in Brasília (DF), in the presence of the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho. Viracopos had already won the same title of Best in Brazil in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 and, now, in 2025. The awards always refer to the previous year.

The first two annual awards won by Viracopos Airport were in the General Category (2019 and 2020) and the last three (2022, 2023 and 2025) were in the category above 10 million engers/year.

As a result, Viracopos is the biggest winner in the history of the Aviação + Brasil Award for enger satisfaction, in its category and among the busiest airports in the country. The award has been given by the Federal Government since the beginning of airport concessions in 2013.

Overall, Viracopos obtained a score of 4,48, on a scale of 1 to 5, while the average of the 06 airports in the category with more than 10 million engers served in 2024 was 4,39. Among the 20 airports, the overall average for the year was 4,43.

In total, surveys conducted with engers by the federal government throughout 2024, approximately 107 people were interviewed at the 20 main airports in Brazil. Together, these 20 airports are responsible for approximately 86% of the enger flow in the country.

13 quarters

Before the survey was annual, the award was announced every three months and Viracopos won 13 times as Best Airport in Brazil in the quarterly evaluations carried out by the Federal Government since the beginning of the concession, namely: 3rd quarter of 2013; 4th quarter of 2013; 4th quarter of 2014; 1st quarter of 2015; 1st quarter of 2016; 2nd quarter of 2017; 3rd quarter of 2017; 1st quarter of 2018; 3rd quarter of 2018; 4th quarter of 2018; 1st quarter of 2019; 2nd quarter of 2019; and 4th quarter of 2019.

The survey evaluates the experiences of engers in various items of infrastructure, assistance, services, in addition to the performance of airport processes such as check-in, security inspection, baggage claim, among others.

The CEO of Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos, Gustavo Müssnich, believes that this new achievement reflects the efforts of the entire airport community in pursuit of excellence in the services provided at the airport. “Without a doubt, this new title of Best Airport in Brazil in the enger Satisfaction Survey shows that the focus on the quality of the services provided is always recognized by customers and engers. The concessionaire will continue investing in improvements throughout 2025 so that we can win another title next year,” said the airport’s CEO.

“Viracopos has already won the title of Best Airport in Brazil four times and this new award shows that Viracopos is committed to continually improving the services it offers to its customers. We cannot forget that Viracopos has also won awards worldwide for the efficiency and agility of its Cargo Terminal,” concluded Viracopos’s Operations Director, Marco Beme.

The survey of airport enger perception indicators at airports is coordinated by a technical team from SAC, with the of CONAERO's Technical Committee for Operational Performance (CTDO).

The collection of qualitative data consists of carrying out face-to-face interviews, using a standard questionnaire, with engers boarding and disembarking from the 20 main airports in the country. The questions formulated in the questionnaire include indicators such as comfort, safety, services and facilities offered, among others. At the end of the questionnaire, the respondent also assesses their overall satisfaction with the airport, also asg a score from 1 to 5.

Managed by the concessionaire Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos SA since 2013, Viracopos International Airport has the capacity to serve up to 25 million engers/year, in a modern terminal, which offers more comfort and security to its customers.

The terminal lobby has 72 state-of-the-art shared check-in positions, as well as self-service kiosks. The airport complex has 28 boarding bridges and the facilities cover 178 m² of built area, with the old terminal (T0), which was completely deactivated in 2016, having an area of ​​28 m². In addition, Viracopos has a parking garage with capacity for 4.000 vehicles.

Over the last few years, the Viracopos Cargo Terminal has also been internationally recognized for its infrastructure, agility and security in processing national and international cargo, becoming a global reference.
