Reduction in A400M assembly fee may delay deliveries

Airbus announced this week that it decided to reduce the A400M assembly rate, which means that it will have a reduction in the number of aircraft to be manufactured in the year.

The decrease in production will be progressive, in 2018 the manufacturer plans to produce only 15 aircraft of this model, in 2019 this value will drop to 11 units and may reach 8 in the following year.

Airbus reported that it has already discussed this reduction with customers, notably countries that are interested in the freighter. And he also warned a European Union commission that this cut, along with that of the A380, may result in up to 3700 dismissals.

The manufacturer did not deny that this reduction could cause difficulties in sales of the A400M, which is already experiencing difficulties in finding new customers.
