Accident after the landing of a South African C130BZ at an airport in Congo

A C-130BZ Hercules of the South African Air Force suffered an accident this Thursday afternoon (08/01), when landing on the runway at Goma Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

“The South African Air Force C130 was returning to Goma after delivering logistical supplies in Beni when the incident happened,” said South African National Defense Force (SANDF) spokesman Siphiwe Dlamini.

“No one was injured during the landing and a Board of Inquiry will be convened to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident,” concludes.

Still according to Dlamini, the investigations must begin as soon as possible so that an exact conclusion can be reached about what led the crew to make what was apparently a forced landing.
