As published in the Official Journal of the Union this Tuesday (6), the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) issued the Service Order that gives effect to the concession contract signed between Aena and the Agency last March. Then begins the transition process in the management of the airports in the SP/MS/PA/MG block, which includes Congonhas – the second largest in the country in of number of engers –, and the company begins the plans for improvements, so necessary for s of the airports. new network infrastructure equipment. The other airports in the block are Uberlândia-MG, Uberaba-MG, Montes Claros-MG, Campo Grande-MS, Ponta Porã-MS, Corumbá-MS, Carajás-PA, Santarém-PA, Altamira-PA, Marabá-PA.
Once the contract is validated, the 40-day deadlines begin to run for the concessionaire to present the airports' operational transition plans (PTOs) to the agency, which has another 40 days to evaluate them. After these procedures, it will take at least 15 days for Aena to take over the management of the smaller equipment and 45 days for the transition from Congonhas.
The airports were auctioned for BRL 2,45 billion in the seventh round of airport concessions in August 2022. A little less than 50% of this amount would be paid with the presentation of precatories, but, given the perspective of defining the rules for the use of these resources in just a few months, the concessionaire opted for payment in cash, with the purpose of maintaining the planned schedule of investments in Brazil and moving forward with the processes necessary to assume the management of the airports. With the work on the Northeast Airports being delivered, the company will be able to dedicate itself diligently to this new challenge and consolidate itself as the largest airport operator in Brazil (in airports) and in the world (in engers).
