This week Aena Brasil delivered an important expansion of the remote departure lounge of the Recife Guararapes International Airport – Gilberto Freyre. With over 500 m², the new space offers even more comfort and quality for engers who board flights with regional destinations, including the one that connects the capital of Pernambuco to Fernando de Noronha.
The room became more demanded after all flights to the archipelago began to be with regional aircraft that do not operate on the boarding bridges.
The inauguration is part of the series of improvements that Aena Brasil has been promoting at the airport since it took over management in March 2020.
The new departure lounge will soon receive new toilets, larger than the current ones, a snack bar, and will undergo other expansions until it reaches a total area of 2.000 m2. Finally, the space will have two more boarding gates, bringing it to five in total and additional bus spaces.
By the second half of next year, Recife Airport will undergo an ambitious transformation in services and infrastructure.
In addition to the remote boarding lounge, new food stores will be inaugurated, as well as four boarding bridges, an inspection channel with automated access, better signposted, more intuitive flows and two VIP lounges, one for domestic flights and the other for international flights.
With exclusive use for domestic departures, the new space is located on the south side of the airport. The new remote departure lounge is essential to consolidate Recife as a major hub for regional, national and international flights.
