Well, in the case of the Aeroflot A330, there was extensive negotiation between the Russian Federal Aviation Regulator Rosaviatsia, who managed to make it possible to return the jet to Moscow.

The commercial dispute over Airbus was brought by lessor Irish Celestial Aviation Trading, the negotiation also involved the acting head of Sri Lanka's airport and air navigation service, as reported by Portal Flight global

After the Sri Lanka commercial court ruled on the case, it was decided that the order gave no involvement to the airport or air traffic control, giving a favorable opinion to release the aircraft.

Finally, Rosaviatsia said that the negotiations were favorable due to the fact that the Russian government has “friendly relations” with Sri Lanka in the long term.

Due to the sanctions of the conflict in the Ukrainian territory by Russia, the A330-300 previously held the Bermuda registration VQ-BMY, starting to bear the registration RA-73702 after confiscation by Russia.

With the return of the A330-300, Aeroflot suspended operations between Moscow and Colombo, in order to ensure that the Russian company does not face any more legal problems when flying to Sri Lanka.
