Aeromot will invest BRL 300 million to produce Diamond aircraft in Brazil

This Wednesday, 29th, at an event at the Piratini Palace, the protocol of intentions between the State government and the aeromot to enable an aeronautical technology center with a Diamond aircraft assembly unit. The company estimates that the total investment for the venture will be R$ 300 million.

The unit will be installed in the Industrial District of Guaíba and, in the first phase, around R$ 80 million will be invested. The document was also signed by the CEO of Aeromot, Guilherme Cunha.

For deputy Dr Thiago Duarte who represented the Legislative Assembly at the event and was since the beginning of the negotiations bringing Aeromot closer to the Executive, “In addition to creating jobs and investing BRL 300 million, the State will receive a cutting-edge industry with high added value with the installation of the automaker in Guaíba, enhancing the Industrial District, not to mention that the aircraft can also be used in air transport of organs, streamlining and making the whole transplant process viable and saving lives”.

As a counterpart from the State, the protocol establishes in processes with state bodies and related to promotion and incentive programs. After completing the stages of environmental licensing and approvals by civil aviation regulatory bodies, the project works should start as early as 2023.

According to Aeromot, around 1,3 jobs will be generated, 500 of which will be direct and 800 indirect.

The governor recalled the vocation of Rio Grande do Sul in the aviation segment, marked by the pioneering spirit of Varig, the first airline in Brazil, which ended its activities in the 2000s.

“It is a very important step for our State, which in the past had a great aeronautical vocation. From this signature, we will be able to resume this vocation with an aircraft assembler and a technology center in the municipality of Guaíba, generating jobs and income and economic development”, said the governor.

“This technological development and aircraft assembly center is the realization of a very well-founded, well-planned plan that seeks to regain Rio Grande do Sul’s leading role in the aeronautical market”, highlighted the CEO of Aeromot, Guilherme Cunha.
