The Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (IVR) missions are essential for planning the departures of aircraft that must carry out actions such as Airborne Assault, Attack, Anti-Aircraft Defense, Escort, In-Flight Refueling (REVO), Air Resupply, among others, such as who are being trained in t Exercise Tínia 2021, in Santa Maria (RS).
The cameras and sensors of the A-1AM aircraft, of the First Squadron of the Twelfth Aviation Group (1st/10th GAV) – Poker Squadron, and Hermes 450 and 900, of the First Squadron of the Twelfth Aviation Group (1st/12th GAV) – Horus Squadron, are responsible for capturing images that are analyzed to assist in the planning of other missions.
During training, explains the Commander of the Poker Squadron, the full capabilities of the modernized aircraft are being used. “We are fully exploiting the electronic warfare capabilities and new possibilities of the A-1AM, such as sensors, Datalink, jammers and self-defense”, tells Lieutenant Colonel Aviator Agnaldo dos Santos.
E-99 planes are also used to provide situational awareness of the environment. Using their equipment to acquire information, the crew assists in coordinating the flow of aircraft entering and leaving the combat zone.
t Exercise Tínia
The third edition of the Tínia t Exercise, which takes place from Wing 4 – Santa Maria Air Base (BASM), until November 26, brings together more than 1.200 military personnel, 50 aircraft and 24 Air and Infantry Units, in a conventional warfare simulation, also called regular war, that is, when there is a conflict between the armed forces of two countries or alliances of Nations.
