Now, in a publication made this Thursday (13) by Congress in Focus, two aircraft of the airline will be sent to the United States, more precisely on January 17th.

According to an ANAC letter sent to Deputy Roman (Patriota-PR) and obtained by the Congress in Focus, the PS-SFC and PS-ITA aircraft owned by DCAL 2 Leasing Limited will carry out a “transfer to a base where the aircraft will be stored” at Tucson International Airport, in the United States.

In addition, in order for the aircraft to be sent to the United States to be granted by ANAC, both PS-SFC and PS-ITA carried out an inspection at TAP Maintenance & Engineering (TAP M&E). Interestingly, Digex also maintained ITA planes in Brazil

On the other hand, the press office of Itapemirim Transportes Aéreos states that sending the aircraft to the United States is a matter of carrying out their maintenance due to the fact that TAP M&E is ending its activities in Brazil.

Despite rumors, it is not yet known whether the transfer flight to the United States actually means the definitive return, since Tucson International Airport is widely used for the storage and preservation of aircraft that are out of use thanks to its climate. predominantly hot, something quite common since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic by air operators around the world.

With uncertainties about the future of Itapemirim's operational return, there is a high probability that the companies that own the aircraft that provide services to Itapemirim have requested the immediate return of these aircraft, something that can be seen as harmful to the aviation market in Brazil, Because there is a possibility that future leases of aircraft to Brazilian operators will be seen as a greater risk on the part of lessors and, therefore, an increase in lease prices.
