After two years, Brasília Airport once again holds the classic Spotter Day

Infrarica, manager of the Brasilia airport gathered this Saturday 150 lovers of aviation and aeronautical photography on the runway of the air terminal.

The traditional event called Spotter Day took place from 5:30 am to 12:XNUMX pm and, in addition to recording images of the aircraft, participants were able to visit the Fire Fighting Section and watch a demonstration by the concessionaire's firefighters.

There was a snack, a raffle for gifts and the end of the event was at Praça Pick Up with a concert by Banda Distintos Filhos at the end.

Throughout the morning, the spotters had the opportunity to stay close to the planes in a restricted access area, less than 300 meters from the airport runway of the 2nd busiest airport in Brazil. Not to mention the privilege of recording these impressive machines at sunrise with the incredible sky that only Brasilia has.

The movement of aircraft was intense and the airlines sent their planes with different paintings to the federal capital, such as the plane of the Brazilian team and Mickey Mouse.

The event, which has been held since 2015 by Inframerica, aims to foster a ion for aviation and the hobby of spotting, which consists of observing and photographing planes. The concessionaire was a pioneer in holding the event in Brazil.

This year, Spotter Day celebrates the return of the traditional event that did not happen in the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and celebrates the 10th anniversary of Inframerica and the Brazilian Association of Airlines (ABEAR).

To promote an even more special edition to participants, Infrarica sought partners for Spotter Day. The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the airlines Latam, Gol, Azul, Aerolíneas Argentinas ed the event.

Starbucks, Pizzaria Dom Bosco, Dunkin Donuts, Padaria Vitória, Chilli Beans, The Plane Experience and Dumont Coffee were also ers. The aviation YouTube channel, Aviões e Música, also signed a partnership with the Spotter Day at Brasília Airport and selected two followers to participate in the popular event.

ABEAR will award the best photo taken at the event. The Association will offer a national trip with the right to a companion for the Spotter who participates in the photographic contest.

The Spotter Day event

In 2015 the Infrarica held the 1st Spotter Day at Brasília Airport and the 1st in Brazil held by an airport . Since then, the event has become mandatory on the calendar of the terminal in Brasilia. The last edition was promoted in 2019.

Due to the pandemic and the impossibility of gatherings, in 2020 the 6th edition of Spotter Day became Spotter Night, a cinema version of the action and which was organized at the Drive-in Festival in the airport parking lot. Instead of taking photos on the landing and takeoff track, photographers were able to the best moments of past editions and watch a movie inside their car following all health protocols.

The Spotter Day at Brasília Airport has become one of the biggest and most disputed in the country. Several spotters from other cities and even abroad have already participated in the editions.  

Inframerica also designed an event for young spotters. Children from 7 to 14 years old can participate in an exclusive action for the age group, Spotter Kids, which takes place once a year.

Spotter Day aims to encourage the hobby of plane spotting, which consists of recording images of planes, a very common activity in airports around the world and a unique opportunity for lovers of aeronautical photography.
