Air Canada announces eight Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft in leasing agreement

A Air Canada announced an agreement with BOC Aviation Limited to lease eight Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. 

The eight aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and will undergo necessary modifications before entering service in 2025. The aircraft will initially operate in a single economy class layout until they are reconfigured to Air Canada's narrow body standard. All eight aircraft will be equipped with CFM LEAP-1B engines.

“We expect these aircraft to enter service next year after completing some necessary modifications. These eight new fuel-efficient and cost-effective 737-8s will provide greater fleet flexibility and additional capacity while ing one of our sustainability goals of emissions mitigation,” said Michael Rousseau, president and CEO of Air Canada.
