Air China today announced an order for six Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range). The purchase is valued at over USD 2 billion at list prices and reinforces Air China's widebody fleet as it expands its international flight network.
“The 777-300ER has proven its worth as a long-range aircraft for our customers around the world, becoming the preferred choice for Air China's international expansion,” said Ihssane Mounir, Senior Vice President of Sales of Boeing in Asia. "This order reflects the strength of Boeing's long relationship with Air China, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for additional opportunities in the future."
China's flag carrier continues to modernize its long-haul fleet to replace aging aircraft and plans to expand its growing international network. Air China currently operates a fleet of 174 Boeing aircraft, with nearly all of Boeing's current production models including the 737 NG, 747-8I, as well as the 777-300ER.
With this new order, Air China will increase its unfilled orders with Boeing aircraft to 90 units, which include orders for new 787-9 Dreamliners.
