The future Anápolis Cargo Airport, which could be the second largest in Brazil, was the subject discussed between the Governor of the State of Goiás, Marconi Perillo, and the Air Force Commander, Lieutenant-Brigadier Nivaldo Luiz Rossato, this afternoon Wednesday (08/03), in Brasilia.
According to the Governor, all that remains is to regularize with the Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SAC) the land that houses the 3300-meter runway, capable of receiving the largest freighters in the world and to reinforce the strategic position of Anápolis for the Country.
The proposal of the government of Goiás is that the bidding process for the concession of the Cargo Airport take place in the second half of 2017. the construction of the courtyard.

The two authorities agree that Anápolis has enormous potential for integrating the country and for growth in the coming years. The Air Force Commander highlighted that Anápolis will soon be the largest military air structure in the country. The Carcará Squadron (1st/6th) was recently transferred from Recife to Anápolis. In addition, the city will receive two Squadrons that will operate the Gripen, the Swedish aircraft that will equip the Brazilian Air Force from 2020.
“The air unit responsible for the KC-390, a freighter developed by EMBRAER, will also be based in the city”, added the Commander. As part of the FAB restructuring process, the Anápolis Air Base gave way to Wing 2, an operational complex that will manage the movement of all military aircraft under its jurisdiction.
“Anápolis is the cloverleaf of Brazil”, stated Marconi Perillo, highlighting the city's geographical position and the quality of the duplicated road structure that leads to the Southeast Region. The governor also recalled that the construction of the railroad between Brasília and Goiânia should take place in 2018, which will include a station in Anápolis, making commuting even easier for Anapolinos who work in the federal capital.
