There was great expectation with the arrival of another aircraft in the pink colors of Azul, this would be the largest aircraft in the fleet, the A330-900neo. However, the company informed Portal Aeroflap that the aircraft must remain stocked at least until 2022.
The future PR-ANV of Azul Linhas Aéreas has already been completely painted and the engines are also installed. The aircraft even performed some test flights, go-arounds, abort take-off, common tests on aircraft before being delivered to airlines.
The initial forecast was that the aircraft would be delivered in the first half of 2021, however Azul will stock the aircraft for at least until 2022. On January 6, still with the Airbus test registration, F-WWYO, made a flight of Toulouse to Chateauroux.
In Chateauroux there is a place for long-term aircraft storage, where Azul itself stored its last two A330neos for a few months. Currently, Azul's long-haul fleet consists of 8 Airbus A330-200s, 4 of which are in operation and another 4 A330-900neo. Of these about 3 are in operation.
