Aircalin decides to send A330neo back to factory to solve problems

Airbus is investigating the cause of noxious vapors in the cabin of a new Aircarlin Airbus A330-900, registration F-ONET that was shipped to the Airbus factory in Toulouse, .

The aircraft was sent to after the company's technicians were unable to solve the problem, which causes headaches and eye irritation for the crew and engers.

The Nouméa-based airline took delivery of its two Rolls Royce Trent 330-powered A900-7000s in July and October this year, replacing two A330-200s that operate routes from the French Pacific island territory to Australia, Japan and beyond. Pacific islands.

The aircraft involved, ed with F-ONET, was withdrawn from service after a flight to Sydney following complaints of a strong smell of oil in the cabin, which caused headaches and eye irritation.

Inspections of the aircraft in Nouméa failed to identify or resolve the issue, resulting in the aircraft being returned to Toulouse for further inspection on 18 November, confirms the airline. The other A330-900 remains in service.

TAP Air Portugal faced the same problem earlier this year on some of its new A330-900neo.
