“With this public hearing, we intend to hear from all players what this parliament can do to contribute to improving aviation in Brazil”, said the MP.

GOL

GOL's presidential adviser, Alberto Fajerman, pointed out that growth in the regional segment has two main forms of stimulus: tax incentives and subsidy programs.

“We have to have sustainable regional companies, with reliable flights and with that we will develop good regional aviation, as Brazil deserves”, said Fajerman.

LATAM

The commercial director of LATAM Brasil, Diogo Elias, highlighted the company's resumption after the pandemic and the expansion of the number of destinations served in Brazil, which will reach 56 in the first quarter of 2022.

“We have a fleet that does not allow us to reach all airports in Brazil, but it allows us to reach more airports than we are operating today, which is what we are looking for. This increase in connectivity comes on this wave of better efficiency and the search for more options for engers”, he said.

ITAPEMIRIM

The project to expand the network to as many cities as possible was also highlighted by ITAPEMIRIM TRANSPORTS AÉREOS (ITA) advisor Ricardo Bezerra. The executive revealed the company's project to have a network that connects each capital to at least three cities in the state, in addition to creating an integration between air and road modes.

“ITA believes that regional aviation has everything to grow and be integrated into our road transport, which already serves 2,7 cities”, he said.

ABAETE

ABAETÉ's managing partner (COO), Tiago Tosto, spoke about the sector's dollar-indexed costs, reiterating the link between regional aviation and economic activities in inland cities.

“If we don't connect Brazil, with such a territorial extension, we won't have the capacity to grow our own GDP. So, in fact, regional aviation is crucial for the country’s growth”, said.

RIMA, a company operating in the North of the country, was represented by CEO Gilberto Scheffer, who highlighted the difficulties faced by regional companies with costs and the importance of establishing partnerships with large companies.

“We even operated regional flights to the interior of Rondônia and stopped due to some situations, such as fuel prices and a bad ticket sales system. Hence the importance of having these alliances with large companies, as they sell well, have good systems that communicate with other systems”.
