Azul Linhas Aéreas announced 76 new frequencies between the 21st and 26th of February, the time of the Folia de Momo. The increase will offer 4.550 more seats than normal operation. Recife-Maceió, Recife-Belo Horizonte, Recife-Noronha, Recife-Rio (Galeão), Recife-Fortaleza, Recife-Aracaju, Recife-Campina Grande, Recife-Guarulhos, Recife-Goiânia, Recife-João Pessoa, Recife-Petrolina and Recife-Teresina will be the benefited markets.
LATAM, on the other hand, made two flights available (one way and one way back) on February 21st and another two (one way round trip) on February 23rd. The trips will be operated between the airports of São Paulo/Guarulhos and Recife and operated by A321 aircraft, with capacity for 220 engers.
“Carnival is one of the main tourist attractions in Pernambuco and, aware of this, airlines have worked extensively to serve the public that wants to visit us. This measure increases the tourist movement in our State, consequently reflects on the State's economy and serves to present the cultural riches to an even greater number of visitors”, says the Secretary of Tourism and Leisure, Rodrigo Novaes.
Another company that allocated extra operating capacity to the State was Gol. The company will have 20 above-normal operations and 30 new flights to Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and São Paulo. The extended run runs from February 20th to March 2nd.
