The concessionaire Aeroportos Brasil Viracopos SA, of Viracopos International Airport, achieved a notable milestone by being classified with an “A” grade in the Operational Capacity Certificate (ACOP) in the TOPS REA (Airport Emergency Response) category in an audit carried out by ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), in November 2024. The result of the audit was reported to the airport in January.
The “A” rating in ACOP TOPS REA reflects strict compliance with the highest standards of safety and response to airport emergencies, highlighting Viracopos’ operational excellence.
The performance assessed included operational tests conducted directly at the airport, using compliance criteria that include best practices and equipment.
The audit was conducted by the Technical Management of Airport Infrastructure and Operations (GTOP), linked to ANAC's Airport Infrastructure Superintendence (SIA). The “A” rating means that Viracopos achieved a weighted average performance of over 95%, exceeding regulatory requirements and consolidating its position as a benchmark in operational safety in the Brazilian airport sector.
According to the Viracopos Emergency Response Coordination, this result reflects the ongoing commitment to improving safety, adopting advanced technologies and constantly qualifying operational teams.
