About 150 routes will be reestablished by the airline, to meet enger demand during the period. American said the network will be very similar to the same period in 2019, including the difference in seat supply.

“During the pandemic, our hallmark has been building a timeline based on what customers tell us they want and need”, says Brian Znotins, American's vice president of network planning. “And today, they are telling us that they are looking forward to traveling again.”

The cities of Orlando (Florida), Asheville (North Carolina), Kalispell, Montana and Jackson (Wyoming), Nashville, Pittsburgh and Birmingham (Alabama), will be some that will receive extra flights in the period.

Some routes between the east and west of the United States will receive a special increase in seats using widebody aircraft in place of smaller, narrowbody aircraft.

Miami, Los Angeles and John F. Kennedy (New York) airports will be interconnected with Boeing 777 aircraft during this period, to enhance the company's hubs.

The international operation will also receive an increase, and American promises to operate with 80% of its seating capacity.

The airline will have more flights or seats to Bogota, Cali, Colombia; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Lima, Peru; Medellín, Colombia; Port-au-Prince, Haiti; and Quito, Ecuador.

The remaining 10% of planes will be available as reserve aircraft, while dozens of aircraft will be reactivated by the company before June. It is worth noting that American Airlines retired some aircraft during the pandemic, such as the 757 and 767 model planes, so the company's main fleet is smaller compared to 2019.
