American Airlines was the first airline to take delivery of the Boeing 787 after aircraft deliveries were suspended for more than a year.
Since deliveries resumed, American has taken delivery of five 787s, with Boeing delivering three to the company in September alone. In all, nine aircraft were delivered in three months.
With the most recent delivery, American now has 50 Boeing 787 jets in its fleet, operating the -8 and -9 versions. The first delivery took place in 2015.

For more than a year, Boeing has been unable to deliver the 787 due to problems with the aircraft's manufacturing and supply chain. The manufacturer worked with the FAA to get approval and finally in August 2022 made the first delivery of the 120 planes stocked at the time.
In that time, some airlines have made some moves about the future of the Dreamliner.
Emirates considered changing its order for 30 787s, as it was dissatisfied with the delay in deliveries, on the other hand, Qatar Airways would be willing to buy the planes, mainly due to the problems faced with Airbus and the A350.
Lufthansa received its first Boeing 787-9 just over a month ago, and has ed the group of companies that operate the 787 and A350. There will be a total of 32 aircraft destined for the German company.
