On March 6, ANA (All Nippon Airways) unveiled a new special livery that it will use on its A380. This time the Japanese airline will exchange the Pokemons for a huge turtle, drawn in blue color, blending in with the sky and giving the A380 a beautiful look.
The design was chosen from among another 2000 that participated in an open competition organized by the ANA. The painting is related to the sea of Hawaii and its turtles, an island in the United States in the Pacific, the name that the aircraft will receive will be “Flying Honu”, a combination of flying with the name of the green turtle, known as “Honu” in Hawaii.
Despite being a very beautiful painting and with a good purpose, the first A380 equipped with it will only be delivered in 2019, according to information from Airbus. ANA plans to have only one aircraft with this livery, another two A380 aircraft have also been ordered. Logically, the Japanese airline will operate the A380 with special paint on the tourist route from Tokyo to Honolulu.
ANA is also planning a series of future activities in Hawaii to protect the green sea turtle, which is listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as an endangered species.
