ANAC approves Air Europa operations in Brazil

The Board of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) approved this Wednesday afternoon (22/5) the concession to operate regular enger service to Globalia Linhas Aéreas Ltda, the group that manages Air Europa.

It is the first international airline to request a grant to set up a company with 100% foreign capital in regular enger operations in the country.

With the approval, and after issuing the Air Operator Certificate, the company will also be able to operate in the Brazilian domestic market. Today, Air Europa already operates on international routes departing and arriving in the country, from Salvador and Recife airports to Madrid.

Published this Wednesday (22/5), the company's concession took place under MP nº 863, which allows the investment of up to 100% of foreign capital in airline companies.

The company is the first foreign company that has shown a clear interest in operating in Brazil, setting up a company structure in the country. In addition to it, Norwegian Air Shuttle and Sky have already shown interest in air operations in Brazil.

The other three large national companies, LATAM, GOL and Azul, also have foreign capital in their shareholding.
