As a result of yet another initiative of the Simple Flight Program, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) published this Friday (6/11) guidelines for the operation of agricultural aircraft at events. Previously, operators were prevented from participating with their aircraft in events related to agricultural activity.
The Agency has included in Supplementary Instruction (IS) No. 00-004, which brings the Interpretive Guidelines applicable to the rules within the scope of the Superintendence of Operating Standards (SPO), the participation of these aircraft in agricultural events as an action to encourage the development of the activity (click on the link to access).
Thus, as long as the requirements of the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC) nº 137 are met, the landing areas for agricultural air use can also be used for operations at fairs and related events. If the operation is restricted to landing and take-off, no ANAC authorization is required.
In case there is interest in demonstrating aircraft in flight (maneuvers and procedures) for the public, the aerial demonstration operation is characterized, requiring prior authorization from the Agency for air operators, according to section 91.303 of RBAC No. 91 e pursuant to IS 91-008 (click on the links to access). The aircraft manufacturer is previously authorized to carry out such operations, provided that it complies with the conditions listed in Interpretive Guideline 11, contained in IS 00-004 (Click on the link to access).
Get to know the Agricultural Aero Operator Guide (GOA), which provides answers to operators' main questions (Click on the link to access). The GOA already contains, for example, guidelines on the maintenance activity carried out with the remote supervision of an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic, another action of the Simple Flight Program, as disclosed on October 15 in the text “Agricultural aviation gains agility with remote maintenance of aircraft in the field" (Click on the link to access).
