The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) carried out inspections at the Uruguaiana/RS airport, on the 21st and 22nd of February, to collect information on risk management at the aerodrome, which is expected to receive new flights from April. In addition to the Agency, the visit was attended by representatives from the safety areas of GOL, Voe, Azul, CCR Aeroportos and Infraero.
The inspection is part of a project to develop a standardized tool for assessing operational safety at aerodromes, from which information about the country's airport infrastructure, collected by air and aerodrome operators, can be shared with a view to improving management. ANAC and other operators' risk assessments, as well as the sector's decision-making processes.
From the safety point of view, the activity allowed the exchange of perceptions among participants on issues of risk management and the operational security management system at airports. The points for improvement identified during the visit will be incorporated into the tool, which will still be presented to aerodrome operators for a new round of collecting contributions before definitive implementation.
The collection of information is part of the Agency's collaborative work with industry in the context of the revision of Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation No. 139, which deals with airport certification, and ANAC Resolution 651/2021, which establishes the management process forecast of risk and guarantee of operational safety for specific cases.
