The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) set up the Sector Consultation No. 2/2022 which proposes the revision of Supplementary Instruction nº 43.13-006, entitled “Classification of alterations in aircraft and simplified approval process of technical data for major alterations”. Contributions should be forwarded to the Agency through electronic form until February 26th (click on the link to access).
The sectorial consultation is public and open to contributions from the whole society. However, as this is a topic that affects different Regulators of the Agency, the consultation is aimed at aircraft operators; applicants for and holders of supplemental type certificates and other approvals for modifications to a type certificate; accredited design professionals; companies interested in obtaining Project Organization Certificate; and maintenance organizations.
This is a new IS that aims to explain in detail the classification of changes and guide the process of incorporating small changes and simplified approval of technical data for some major changes. This theme is part of the actions of the Simple Flight Program, created by the federal government and ANAC to modernize and reduce bureaucracy in the Brazilian civil aviation sector, focusing on general aviation.
The main topics highlighted in the IS are: Classification of modifications and alterations in aircraft; Technical data usable in alterations and modifications; Changes and modifications flowcharts; Compatibility between new alterations/modifications with previously installed ones; Approval of technical data for major changes eligible for the simplified process; Specific Instructions for Minor Changes; and Specific Instructions for Streamlined Approval of Major Changes.
