ANAC opens public consultation on expansion of the Light Sport Aircraft category

The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) launched this Friday, January 21, Public Consultation No. 2 of 2022 on the proposed amendments to the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulations (RBACs) No. 01 and No. 21, which deals with requirements airworthiness standards adopted by ANAC for the Light Sport Aircraft (ALE) category.

On February 3, the Agency will hold a virtual public hearing to collect verbal manifestations from interested parties.          

The changes proposed in the amendments presented in this consultation are the result of the work of the Mixed Study Group established by ANAC, in April of last year, to evaluate the current norms and the possibility of expanding the category.

Additionally, in May 2021, the Agency opened a Subsidy Receipt (click on the link to access) to collect evaluations from the target audience on the advantages and disadvantages of a special light sport aircraft when compared to other categories, such as certified and experimental aircraft of amateur construction.

For this consultation, there will be a public hearing, in virtual format, on the 3rd of February, starting at 14:XNUMX p.m. official channel of ANAC on YouTube (click to access).

Those interested in expressing themselves verbally during the virtual session must in advance via the email address [email protected] until 18:1 on the XNUMXst of February.

The regulatory changes for ALE in Brazil and the category expansion make up the themes of the ANAC Regulatory Agenda 2021-2022, which provides for the matters that should receive priority action in the Agency's standardization process, taking into the impacts that will be generated on society .
