The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) will soon change its unit in Rio de Janeiro, currently located in the Torre Boavista building, to premises inside the Palácio da Fazenda, in the center of the city.

Displacement is a new stage of the Federal Government's Unifica and Racionaliza programs to optimize and reduce budgetary costs. The building change will generate estimated monthly savings of R$500, totaling R$30 million in five years, the duration of a lease contract.

With the end of the term of the current contract, ANAC opened two fronts to choose new facilities: it started a Public Call Process for Prospecting the Real Estate Market and the search for Public Property Sharing, which resulted in the possibility of sharing space with the Ministry of Economy, at the Palace of Finance. The building is located close to two subway stations, Praça XV Ferry Station and Santos Dumont Airport.

The new spaces must undergo interventions in electrical, logic, air conditioning, hydrosanitary and architectural installations.

The transfer project, which includes the necessary works and the transport of equipment, should cost around R$ 6,68 million, which will be paid in approximately 13 months, with the savings generated. The move to the Palácio da Fazenda is scheduled for the first half of 2022.

Currently, in addition to the unit in Rio de Janeiro, procedures and negotiations are also in force for the transfer of the facilities of the Regional Civil Aviation Center (NURAC) in Curitiba, which should be announced later this year.

Space optimization and sharing

This is not the first time that ANAC has adopted the space-sharing model. Since 2019, the Agency has been carrying out readjustments in other locations. The first experience was with NURAC in Belo Horizonte, which began to share facilities with the Central Bank of Brazil. The following year, in 2020, the Agency unit in Porto Alegre moved to the 11th floor of the Ministry of Economy building in the city.

Also in 2020, the move of the ANAC unit in São José dos Campos to Tower B of the Aquarius by Helbor Business Center was completed. The new installations will result in savings of more than R$9 million over five years (term of validity of the new contract).
