Anduril bets on small and affordable drones after successful operations in Ukraine

Anduril Industries has unveiled new autonomous drones for lethal missions and intelligence gathering, aiming to meet the growing demand for solutions that are cheaper than fighter jets, inspired by the success of drones in Ukraine. The conflict in Ukraine has highlighted the value of lightweight, fast-moving, floating munitions that offer economic and strategic advantages over fighter jets. Designed for a variety of missions, the vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) autonomous aerial vehicles (AAVs) can perform intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and search and rescue, and can also be equipped with loitering munitions to target enemies. The company said the systems have a flight endurance of more than 40 minutes and can reach ranges of up to 20 km.
