Angola acquires three Airbus C295 aircraft for multirole operations

The Republic of Angola made a firm order of three Airbus C295 to carry out multirole operations. Two aircraft will be equipped specifically for maritime surveillance and one for transport missions.

Aircraft configured for transport missions will be able to perform tactical tasks of loading and transporting troops, parachuting, dropping cargo or humanitarian missions.

Os dois C295 configured as Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA) will play a key role in Search and Rescue (SAR), illegal fishing and border control, in case of natural disasters and intelligence gathering missions, among others. They will be equipped with the Fully Integrated Tactical System (FITS) mission system developed by Airbus, as well as state-of-the-art sensors.

All three Angola aircraft will be equipped with the latest version of the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion avionics suite.

Developed by the Spanish manufacturer Construcciones Aeronáuticas SA (currently Airbus Defense and Space), the C295 is a tactical freighter developed for military use. The aircraft can carry 73 soldiers, 48 ​​paratroopers or seven tons of cargo.

The C-295 is in service in 33 countries, including Portugal, Canada, Spain, Egypt, Poland, Mexico and Brazil.
