An ATR 72 of the Tarom airline from Romania had to abort its takeoff in Oradea due to a rabbit that was on the runway at the moment the aircraft was running for takeoff.
The ATR 72 registration YR-ATJ was flying RO 630 bound for Bucharest, also in Romania, with about 43 people on board. The pilots aborted the takeoff at about 65 knots of speed when they saw the Rabbit on the runway, the aircraft managed to stop safely but still hit the animal on the runway.
The aircraft returned to the apron where it was collected for an overhaul. The state of Coelho was not informed by the authorities, another ATR was scheduled to fulfill the flight.
