Among these prestigious establishments in the country that appear in the ranking, one is in the Top 5. With creativity and refinement, they offer some ingredients from the rich Colombian gastronomy, mixed with others that cross borders. These are award-winning kitchens, with great chefs at the helm.

Colombian cuisine is famous for mixing characteristics of Spanish, African and indigenous cultures, with a strong presence of corn, potatoes and bananas in many recipes. Most award-winning restaurants use these elements in iconic dishes.

For those who want to learn a little more about Colombia's traditional cuisine, in addition to the award-winning restaurants, there are several gastronomic options, some deeply embedded in Colombian culture. Dishes such as tray paisa (rice, beans, ground meat, pork rinds, fried egg, fried banana, sausage, arepa and avocado), patacones (a dish made with crushed, fried and seasoned banana-apple) and lechona (roasted pork stuffed with peas, onion, rice, among other spices, and cooked for 12 hours) – its consumption is widespread in Colombia and suits different tastes.

There are also the famous ajiaco (based on potatoes and chicken) and sancocho (soup made with corn, potatoes, cassava, as well as various vegetables, and which can be prepared with fish, meat and chicken), which are some of the dishes traditions linked to the country's culture.

Furthermore, from Bogotá, with a network of more than 140 routes that connect the city to 71 destinations in 24 countries, Avianca also connects Brazilians to other gastronomic itineraries that are part of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America. Among these places is Lima, Peru, which does not require a visa, just a valid port or identity card to enter.
