On November 12th, Líder Aviação completes 64 years of history. Among the main reasons for celebration is the expansion of the helicopter operation business unit, which provides air transport services for the oil and gas segment: in 2022 alone, Líder had a 50% increase in the number of contracts.

“We are closing the year 2022 at a fast pace! We are a 64-year-old company, but we have innovation and energy to spare”, says Junia Hermont, Chief Operating Officer by Leader Aviation. “There were so many milestones and achievements this year, including the expansion of our helicopter operation unit for the oil and gas industry; IS-BAH certification for airport service; in addition to the return of Labace, the main executive aviation event in Latin America, which took a forced break for two years due to the pandemic”, lists Junia.

The area received investments of US$ 10 million this year and will have its aircraft fleet expanded by about 30% to serve, among others, the new base and the new hangar in operation in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

In the sales area, a historic warm-up: “In the world market, there was a 150% increase in purchase and sale transactions for both new and used aircraft compared to the pre-pandemic period”, says Anderson Markiewicz, Aircraft Sales director at Líder Aviação.

The resumption of Labace, held in August at Congonhas airport (SP), was very important in this regard, as it is the main event in Brazil that brings together aircraft representatives and their customers and partners.

From July 2021 to June 2022, Líder ed 20 aircraft sold – a factor that contributed to the 26% increase in the company's revenue, if we compare January to April 2022 with the same period of the previous year. And, since October, the company started to sell the new HondaJet model, the Elite II (see here), released in October in the US. It is worth ing that Líder is the exclusive representative in Brazil of Honda Aircraft, manufacturer of the HondaJet.

Another highlight of the year was the executive maintenance unit, which according to Bruna Assumpção, Managing Director of Líder Aviação, “is expected to grow in 2022, compared to the pre-pandemic period (2019), reaching a 23% higher demand in scheduled maintenance and 12% higher in unscheduled maintenance”.

Events such as Rock in Rio and the Formula 1 Grand Prix contributed to the company's positive numbers achieved by the Aircraft Chartering and Management units, in addition to Airport Service. As a matter of fact, Líder recently conquered the IS-BAH (The International Standard For Business Aircraft Handling) – maximum international certification of quality, safety and standardization of operations in Airport Service, granted by the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), for executive aviation companies.

“This certification proves Lider's commitment to the safety and excellence of its operations, always offering the best to its customers”, says Cynthia Oliveira, Director of Airport Service at Líder Aviação. “This is a very important achievement and reinforces how much our activities, whether in the air or on the ground, are always guided by the best practices in the world”, adds Cynthia.
