“The Midwest is one of the main highlights of the country when it comes to general aviation, mainly driven by agribusiness, which is the main economic activity in the region. Last year's edition revealed the great business opportunity that exists in the market and the need for events of this size that allow the connection between the large companies in the sector”, said Gledson Castro, director of G2C Events, organizer of Aviation XP.

To get an idea of the strength of the region in the sector, in 2020 general aviation connected 2.243 airfields across the country, according to data from the Brazilian Yearbook of Civil Aviation. Of this total, the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul were responsible for 11% of connections each, second only to the state of São Paulo, with 23% of connections.
When it comes to Private Airfields (not including helipads and helidecks), most are found in the Midwest, with emphasis also on Mato Grosso (524) and Mato Grosso do Sul (437).
Regarding the fleet, the Midwest has 2.968 conventional aircraft, 193 helicopters, 492 turboprops, 140 jets and 5 amphibians. Turboprop aircraft were the ones with the greatest increase in the region, with 16 more units in 2020.
