On the 27th, Azul started selling tickets for the new route that will connect the city of Fortaleza, in Ceará, to Mossoró, in Rio Grande do Norte. The operation should start on November 19, with weekly trips that will last up to one hour.
This will be the eighth connection from Fortaleza airport, which already has operations to Aracati – Canoa Quebrada, Belém, Cuiabá, Confins, Jericoacoara, Recife and Viracopos, and the third connection from Mossoró airport, which has operations to Natal and Recife.
Mossoró is the second largest city in Rio Grande do Norte and famous for its salt pans, responsible for a large portion of sea salt production in Brazil, in addition to being close to Lajedo de Soledade, an archaeological park located in Apodi, about 80km away. de Mossoró, and which has a multitude of fossils of animals from the ice age and cave inscriptions preserved for thousands of years in limestone rocks.
Azul will offer direct flights carried out by aircraft from the Cessna Grand Caravan fleet, operated by Azul Conecta, which have capacity for up to nine people.
From Mossoró, trips will always take place on Saturdays, taking off at 20:35 pm and landing in Fortaleza at 21:35 pm. In the opposite direction, flights will take place on Sundays, departing from the capital of Ceará at 17:50 pm and arriving in Mossoró at 18:50 pm.
“The tourist options in Fortaleza are already well known to the general public and Mossoró also has a huge potential. That’s why we decided to bet on this new feature, which goes against Azul’s mission of connecting and bringing together the most different Brazilian destinations”, said Azul's Network Planning manager, Vitor Silva.
