Azul announced the inclusion of three new routes and 680 extra operations to destinations that were already part of the airline network of the Recife (FOOT). The expansion is part of a national plan that involves an increase of 2.705 flights in the high season, 1.142 of which are dedicated to Azul Viagens, the company's tourism operator. The Northeast will concentrate 52% of the extra flights in the period, a total of 1.419 to cities in the region.
From December 15, 2023 to February 4, 2024, the company will operate new routes leaving Curitiba, Bauru and Presidente Prudente to Recife, in addition to increasing frequencies that connect the capital of Pernambuco to Fortaleza, João Pessoa, Natal, Maceió, Salvador, Aracaju, to the state of São Paulo, from Ribeirão Preto and São José do Rio Preto. The cities of Belo Horizonte and Uberlândia, in Minas Gerais, will also receive more weekly frequencies.
“Azul has intensified the number of flights to the most popular destinations during the high season. In this sense, the Northeast region is the champion in extra routes, making our hub intoRecifeeven more strategic. As it is a connection point for flights from different states, we complement the connection with other Northeastern capitals and strengthen connections with the Southeast. We are offering our Clients the best travel experience and promoting tourism and the Brazilian economy. We believe this will be one of the best summers in history,” said Beatriz Barbi, Grid Planning manager at Azul.
