The largest network of high season flights in the history of Recife, Pernambuco, and the entire Northeast Region will be operated by BLUE in the summer of this year.
Will be 628 weekly flights in the state, 593 of which will depart from Recife bound for virtually all Brazilian capitals, as well as cities in the interior of the country.
The announcement was made yesterday (04th), at an event at the Palácio das Princesas, attended by company executives, the state governor, Paulo Câmara, and other local authorities.
At the meeting, the plan developed by the company to meet the high demand stimulated by the resumption of Tourism was detailed, which will have Recife as the second largest connection center for Azul in the country.
In all, there will be 10 new routes operated in the capital of Pernambuco, about 8 movements between landings and takeoffs of the company's planes and an offer that should reach one million seats between arrivals and departures.
Compared to previous years, this growth is over 15% in the number of flights operated in the capital and 17% higher than the number of seats offered last summer.
In addition to the increase in flights on routes that are already operated, between December and the end of January 2022, Azul will have seasonal flights in Recife to Boa Vista, Macapá, Santarém, Campo Grande, Porto Velho, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Londrina, Galeão (Rio de Janeiro) and Jericoacoara, reaching 42 destinations in total.
The operation is a historic milestone for Azul and for Pernambuco, as no other airline has held an operation of this magnitude in the history of the state and the Northeast Region as a whole.
“It will be an unprecedented operation, the result of a continuous and growing investment that Azul has been making in Recife and in the state in partnership with local authorities. We will have a 'blue sea' at peak times at Guararapes Airport, with up to 22 of our aircraft on the ground simultaneously. On December 21st alone, the week of Christmas, there will be more than 100 takeoffs in the state, a pace that makes us very excited and full of expectations to meet the wishes of people who are already immunized and hope to enjoy leisure days ", shares Marcelo Bento Ribeiro, Director of Institutional Relations at Azul.
“This announcement is very important. We already had this partnership consolidating with the company Azul and it has been expanding. If we look back five years, we had less than twenty destinations between Recife and other Brazilian municipalities. Today, these destinations are more than forty, that is, we have more than doubled this number of flights, this connectivity and now reaching this mark of virtually all Brazilian capitals will have direct flights leaving Recife. So, we are satisfied and at the same time confident that this way of working, of making these adjustments, these partnerships have worked. This is fundamental for the growth of our tourism. The more flights coming to Recife or ing through Recife, opens up opportunities for income generation, for people who through here to leave foreign currency, that is, to move the economy. And we see this opportunity in this resumption. Tourism moves a whole chain”, commemorates Paulo Câmara, governor of Pernambuco.
