Azul, the only airline representative in the Corporate Sustainability Index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange and for 12 years in the portfolio of the Efficient Carbon Index, ICO2 B3, has just been invited to also integrate the IDiversa, Diversity Index recently launched by B3.
IDiversa B3, based on public data made available by companies to the Securities and Exchange Commission, aims to highlight publicly traded companies in the market that stand out for their strategic plans and investments to increase the diversity of gender and race in their workforce. This is the first Latin American index to combine such criteria (gender and race) within ESG indices.
For Alex Malfitani, Vice President of Finance, B3's recognition demonstrates Azul's commitment to sustainability in the broadest sense of the word. “We founded Azul fifteen years ago with the aim of creating a company that lasts forever. The ESG concept seeks the same, encouraging companies to operate and grow in a perennial way, preserving the environment, playing a social role and respecting governance, values also sought after by our investors. Whenever we enter an ESG index, this is yet another demonstration that we are on the right track,” he explains.
Jason Ward, Vice President of Customers, People and ESG, reinforces that the invitation to be part of IDiversa B3 is another important step towards Azul's mission to be not only the best company in the world, but also the best for the world . “Our policy and culture aimed at offering the best experience for Customers, but also for our Crew , involves a strategic ESG plan that considers the maximum number of initiatives to have an increasingly diverse company. We believe that it is people, in all their differences, life repertoires and degrees of knowledge and experience, who make the difference in all areas necessary for our business to remain successful”, he celebrates.
