O announcement of the reopening of Portugal for Brazilians without the need for quarantine caused an increase in demand for airline tickets and ticket issues for the Portuguese country more than doubled this month compared to August.
As a result, Azul has already started selling extra flights to Lisbon from October, reaching five weekly connections between Brazil and Portugal.
The company's expectation is to carry out a new increase in the offer in December, with the operation of a daily flight between Campinas, the company's largest flight connection hub, and the Portuguese capital.
“The extra flights in October are a quick response that we are giving to the increase in demand and sales of travel to Portugal since the easing of the rules for entering the country. Over the next two months, we will make occasional additions to the offer we already had, but, confident in consolidating demand and maintaining the current rules, we are planning a daily flight between our biggest hub and Lisbon in December. Portugal is an important destination for Azul and offers convenience to our Customer, who departs from Campinas on a direct flight to Europe. We are excited about this start of the international recovery”, says Vitor Silva, Azul's network planning manager.
Boarding Rules
To enter the country, tourists must present the European Union's Covid Digital Certificate, proof of carrying out the RT-PCR laboratory test or rapid antigen test with a negative result, carried out within 72 or 48 hours prior to boarding (the period varies from according to the type of test).
The list of rapid tests approved by the European Union Health Safety Committee can be consulted on the company's website, through the link - https://www.voeazul.com.br/nova-forma-de-viajar.
In addition to the comfort of direct flights between Viracopos and Lisbon, Azul Customers will also be able to access other destinations in Europe that are already released for the entry of Brazilian tourists through the Codeshare agreement that the company has with TAP Air Portugal.
