Azul presents aircraft with two colors in honor of the Parintins Festival

Blue Paritntins event
This year, as the official sponsor of the Parintins Festival, Azul adopts another color in the month of June and takes to the skies the rivalry of one of the biggest cultural spectacles in the world that takes place every year in Amazonas. The company printed its logo on one of its Embraer E1 aircraft in blue on one side and in red on the other, next to the Bois-Bumbás, the Caprichoso, with its blue star, and the Garantido, with a red heart.

The tribute was literally aired this Monday, opening the month of the event, on the Azul flight that departed from Manaus, at 12:15 pm, heading to the municipality of Parintins, the headquarters of the Bumbódromo, where the traditional rivalry is staged.

Before takeoff, at Eduardo Gomes International Airport, there was a symbolic ceremony to present the aircraft, with the presence of the governor of Amazonas, Wilson Miranda Lima, the presidents of the oxen, Rossy Marinho Amoedo (from Caprichoso) and Frederico Daniel Paulo Rolim de Góes (from Garantido), Ian Ribeiro, president of Amazonastur, authorities from Manaus and Parintins and company representatives.

In practice, this investment, in addition to sponsorship, resulted in an increase in Azul flights to Parintins. This year, there will be 150 extra seats until July 2nd, or double the number of seats offered to Customers compared to the same period last year — going from 9.020 to 18.076 seats.

The island of Parintins, located in the Amazon, can only be accessed by river or air. While the boat option can require up to 18 hours of travel from Manaus, air transport takes less than 1 hour, providing more comfort and agility to Customers who will enjoy the Festival, which, this year, will be held between the 28th and June 30.

The stretch between the capital of Amazonas and Parintins, known as Rota do Boi, will have an average of 6 extra takeoffs on 26/06, 27/06 and 02/07 and, on the other days, there will be an average of 14 takeoffs to Parintins , considering regular, extra and charter flights, exceeding the flow of the Rio-São Paulo air bridge (Santos Dumont-Congonhas), Azul's busiest domestic route, which has 13 daily departures.

The Parintins Festival

One of the biggest music and dance theater shows in the world brings thousands of people from the North region and from different parts of the country to the Bumbódromo. The Bois-Bumbás, Caprichoso and Garantido, and their rivalry emblazoned in the colors blue and red, with more than a century of tradition each, are the protagonists of vibrant and exciting shows that unfold over intense days. These moments are permeated by engaging dances, captivating music and folklore performances that enchant the audience. Held annually, the Festival unfolds in a fierce competition between the two oxen, both seeking to provide the best presentation. The celebration goes beyond the competition, exploring themes deeply rooted in the region, such as legends, indigenous rituals and riverside customs. These elements are expertly expressed through dazzling allegories, captivating dances, engaging songs and memorable reenactments, transforming the event into a rich and authentic cultural experience.
