Azul's Director of Institutional and Airport Relations, Fábio Campos, celebrated another international flight departing from the capital of Pernambuco. “Recife is the heart of Azul in the Northeast and our main connectivity hub in the region. We currently have 90 daily flights, taking our Customers from Recife and the region on direct flights to 41 other cities, including international flights to Fort Lauderdale and, now, Orlando”, he explains. “Azul has always been very well received here and this is reflected in the size of our state operation”, adds Fábio.

One of the most popular international destinations for Brazilians, Orlando is home to dozens of theme parks, such as Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando. In addition, the Florida city also brings together several outlets and open-air malls, museums, restaurants and various other types of attractions.

Flight AD8710 will depart from Recife on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 9:35 am, landing in Orlando at 17:15 pm. In the opposite direction, flight AD8711 will depart from Orlando on the same days, at 20:15 pm, arriving in the capital of Pernambuco at 6:30 am.

For the president of Empetur, Eduardo Loyo, this is an important step towards resuming the power of use that Recife airport has. “We are among the best airports in Brazil and this is where most tourists access our state. Resuming this flight is encouraging the growth of tourism, generating more jobs and income for Pernambuco”, he explains.

The secretary of Tourism of Pernambuco, Daniel Coelho, anticipates that by the end of the year, there will be other announcements. “We have ongoing negotiations. The important thing is not only to make the connection/flight possible, but also to highlight the campaign that is being carried out by the Government of Pernambuco, by Empetur, together with the agencies to attract tourists in the issuing markets, in those places that, from now on, connect to Recife. The expectation is for growth in international tourism in our state”, he adds.
