Azul starts selling tickets to Cajazeiras (PB)

Azul Connects Flights Pilots Vacancies Manhuaçu

The city of Cajazeiras, in Paraíba, can now celebrate the start of sales of the flight that will connect the region to Recife, in Pernambuco. In yet another historic move to promote regional integration, the Blue, largest airline in Brazil in of daily flights and number of destinations served, announced that as of today (31) Customers will be able to purchase tickets to the company's main hub in the Northeast and fly from July 17th.

The route will be held three times a week, in both directions, always on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Cajazeiras is the second city in the Sertão da Paraíba to be contemplated with an Azul commercial flight, since since August 2021, Patos also has a route to the capital of Pernambuco. Upon arriving in Recife, Customers will be able to connect to several destinations in Brazil and abroad, with direct flights to Montevideo and Florida.

Cajazeiras is located 470 km from the capital João Pessoa and has a population of 62 thousand inhabitants, being the seventh most populous in the state.

The launch of the flight responds to a demand for the end of air isolation and for the interconnection of municipalities in the interior to the capitals, since the presence of air routes directly influences economic development, enabling business and the expansion of tourism.

“Azul is enabling a major transformation in the airline industry by investing in regional aviation and in cities that have historically been short of supply, but which are full of economic and tourism opportunities. Cajazeiras is one of them. It is a productive city with a dynamic population, eager for new leisure and business options, but which had not had a flight offer for 60 years. We are proud to be the company that is bringing air connectivity to the sertão”, said Vitor Silva, general manager of Mesh and Strategic Planning at Azul.

Azul reinforces its presence in the state of Paraíba

Negotiations for the operation in Cajazeiras took place between Azul and the Government of Paraíba, and are part of an ostensive movement to expand the air network in the state.

In the strategy, Azul opted to increase a fixed network instead of creating temporary stretches exclusively to meet the demand of the June period. This decision transformed Campina Grande airport into a regional hub, with seven daily flights and six direct destinations, providing to nearby cities and standing out as the only company to offer direct connections between the city and strategic destinations, such as Rio de Janeiro, through Santos Dumont Airport, and Belo Horizonte, through BH Airport.

With the new flights and markets, more than 25.000 seats will be offered per month. Last year, Paraíba was the most popular destination at Azul Viagens, as a result of investments in training and awarding agents, roadshows and famtours, which are familiarization trips in which salespeople are invited to get to know the destination up close.
